Our client, an esteemed international pharmaceutical giant, ranks among the top 10 pharmaceutical companies globally, boasting an impressive annual revenue and a workforce of around 100,000 employees.
The primary challenge faced by our client lay in the need for a unified system to store crucial information related to a specific product group. The Global Consumer Marketing Department and the US Sales Department required a solution to manage marketing materials efficiently, monitor project implementation statuses for new product launches, and provide an easily scalable platform.
We developed a portal utilizing the Salesforce Community Cloud to address these challenges. The implementation incorporated various Salesforce elements, including Chatter for collaboration, Search functionality for efficient information retrieval, and an Administrative panel to map hierarchies and manage permissions.
The project started with a user experience analysis involving stakeholders, who were presented with prototypes to evaluate the intuitiveness and alignment with requirements. This marked the inaugural Salesforce project executed under the Scrum framework, allowing for agile refinement of requirements during each project sprint. The result was creating a usable version after the second sprint, with the final, comprehensive system delivered after the last sprint.
While it is too early to provide quantitative figures demonstrating the impact of the new portal on the Consumer Marketing teams and the US Sales Department, the project successfully achieved all its defined objectives. An indicator of the application’s success lies in the swift adoption by the US Sales Department, which has transitioned from using multiple systems to relying solely on the implemented solution – a testament to the project’s effectiveness and integration into daily workflows.
