Customer Challenges:

Operating as a trusted consultant on platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and Office 365, they encountered a significant hurdle in facilitating seamless collaboration between sales teams and various specialists.

The client’s customer operated in an environment where crucial information, including contracts, invoices, proposals, quotes, presentations, and technical documentation, resided in disparate systems. The siloed nature of Salesforce Sales Cloud and Alfresco ECM hindered effective collaboration among sales teams, technical specialists, marketing specialists, and business analysts. Recognizing the inefficiency in this setup, the client sought a solution to integrate both platforms, thereby enhancing cross-departmental collaboration seamlessly.

Salesforce developers crafted a bridge web application to facilitate the integration of Salesforce Sales Cloud and Alfresco ECM. This application became integral to the end customer’s Salesforce solution, offering on-the-fly synchronization capabilities. Users could now access, view, edit, and share documents from Alfresco directly within Salesforce Sales Cloud and vice versa.

The integration process involved meticulous steps: the bridge application received data from Alfresco ECM, transformed it according to predefined integration rules, and transmitted it to Salesforce in an acceptable format. Similarly, the reverse transformation occurred when sharing customer-related information from Salesforce to an Alfresco user. A seamless link between Alfresco-based content and Salesforce records was established by entering Alfresco user credentials in a pop-up window within the Salesforce user record.

Results:

The successful integration delivered tangible results for the end customer. Salesforce Sales Cloud and Alfresco ECM became seamlessly interconnected through the bridge application. This transformative integration empowered sales teams with swift access to Alfresco-based documents directly within Salesforce, fostering improved collaboration across departments.
